Surf Trip

Embarking on the electric wave journey adventure three years ago, I had no idea where it would take me or what challenges lay ahead. Now, I can confidently say that this road trip has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences of my life. With 1.500 km stretching out from Munich to the northern tip of Denmark, I was aware that, given the brief window for waves as predicted by my friends in Klitmøller, Denmark, this venture was somewhat of a shot in the dark. Despite the uncertain and less-than-ideal wave forecast, an inner pull—perhaps stemming from my Danish roots, as my grandmother was Danish—and a longing to reconnect with the land, drew me in. It had been fifteen years since my last visit.

Looking back, this trip proved to be the most demanding yet profoundly rewarding journey. Facing extreme storms, fluctuating temperatures, and sparse charging stations in Northern Denmark, and readjusting to the icy waters, tested my resilience. However, these challenges only made the journey sweeter. A pivotal moment came when, amidst a celestial alignment, I rode the most magnificent wave I’ve ever encountered in the North Sea. Tears welled up in my eyes as I saw it as a gift from my grandmother.

Eagerly anticipating my return and longing to dive deeper into the northern wilderness, I feel a profound connection stirring within my DNA—a sense of belonging that makes this rugged terrain feel like home.
